Do you think Jay Z has one of the greatest minds on the planet?!

Question: First, im going to hit you with the rap aspect.
The dude never puts ink to paper. He has made 10 cds, numerous guest verses and a duet cd and has all his works of art stored in his head ready to spit them at you any time. I cant see how one can store an album in their head like that but with mermorization. The flow is easier and you have a chance to play with it alot more than you do reading it off a paper.

Now, I give you the business aspect.
Nobody wanted to sign Jay Z. Therefore him and his partner at
the time Damon Dash, created Roc A Fella Records. From their he went to running a Hundred million dollar company. Now, to run a company so big and marketable, you have to be good in Econmics. I mean like ppl go to Harvard Business School to have the abilty to be a CEO. I find that truly remarkable.

Not to even mention Co-Owner of a basketball team and trying to move them to New York, which brings in more money than any other city in the country, being trailed by Houston, TX.

1st off let me start with a big LMAO @ the person who said he copies "Nas" style...oh really?...last time i checked they had a completely different style...but hey what do i know....

Now to answer the question YES i agree that Jay-z has a very amazing mind. The things that he comes up with sometimes in his rhymes amaze me and keep me inspired as a writer/artist. And on the business side of things...GENIUS. I think a lot of people hate on Jay-z...but as I always say...people tend to hate on others because secretly they desire to be just like them.... Jay=Amazing

Yes he does, which is why IMO he's been one of the most influential figures in hip hop over the past 10 years, there's not much else to say; you pretty much took care of the musical and business aspects....i thought he wrote his first 3 albums tho?

*based on the amount of hate Jay-z gets, im gonna go out on a limb and say that he as a person, and his music will not be fully appreciated for what its worth until he's dead

not he just fit in at the perfect time.... i do beileve he took his advantages and ran with em

I agree, He is like the Rolling Stones of rap. He transcended rap and became an business entity. Few rappers have done that.

Jay Z definitely does NOT have one of the greatest minds. He does have very good common sense and has good street smarts. I do listen to his music and can consider him one of the top five of all time......but In the rap game he is no match for true intellectual geniuses that he was inspired by such as Biggie and Nas. He admired them and does a great job of copying their style.

He is the co-owner of a team, so what? Rock starts have been doing this for years, people get rich and spend money on what they like. For Mr. Sean Carter it was basketball, congratulations, big woop.

Jay is overrated and it would be nice if everyone would stop polejocking him.

Yes on both levels. I think he's one of the best entrepreneurs out there.

Ummm...in the hip-hop world, maybe, but he isn't touching people like Noam Chomsky.

no

I have a lot of respect for Jay-Z purely because he has come so far. He was just a hustler from the Ghetto and now he's one of the most successful rappers ever. I also love his music and not just him, I bought 'American Gangster' the other day and I LOVED it. He's amazing in my opinion.

Well yeah...as far as the hip hop/music/business industries are concerned... Im not gonna say he is the most brilliant man in the world though...

Yes, he's one of my favorite rapers

Are you serious ?? --Jay-Z is a moron who doesn't have the brains to tie the laces on his Sneakers by himself -----. Even though he can't sing a note or play any instrument he has duped many people into believing that he is a great artist because he can yell, grunt & spit into a microphone.----- As a result ; people waste a ton of money buying his no-talent CDs & Jay-Z makes a lot of money. Since he is also mentally challenged at Mathmatics; the fact that he is dumb as a stone precludes him from being able to count his Money.---Therefore his Attorney & Accountant hire a battery of Corporate Managers + Financial Advisors to oversee his Corporations.- Case Close

In my opinion the three mcs I wanna be the most are...
1. Jay-Z (Top 5 MC, richest rapper right now, most respected rapper of all time)
2. Will Smith (I swear when I got Independance Day in '98, it came with a Will Smith action figure)
3. 2Pac (he had a strong message in his songs)

Note: this is not my fav. three mcs in skills

he is good but not a god of hip hop!
