Does anyone here notice how good rock music is slipping from our hands?!

Question: Led Zeppelin. amazing. Nickelback. EEEEEEWWW.

The old rock is what to go for. None of this greenday, sum 41 stuff! Beatles, rolling stones are awesome but no one likes them, because they are sucked into stuff like rap and country.

I couldn't agree with you more Fishman. I'm not sure what we can do about it though. That's why I just sit back in my own little world and crank up all the tunes I have from when music actually had direction, not to mention TALENT, and try to act like this new crap flooding the airwaves is just one horrible nightmare that I'll one day wake up from.

who cares ?

METAL is WAAAYYY better than rock

It's all a matter of opinion really. I can't stand Nickelback, but I also don't really care for Led Zeppelin. The only old rock I really get into is KISS and Aerosmith. I enjoy a lot of 80's music as well. I prefer more of the alternative/pop punk/emo/screamo scene today. Although I must admit, there are WAY too many bands out today. While I love the internet dearly, it has given any teenage boy with enough money to buy a decent music program and enough intelligence to write some shitty lyrics, the chance to put his music out there and think it's the next big thing. Now I'm just as guilty as this as the next music addict, but it didn't used to be that a person could list off their favorite bands and you wouldn't know a single one of them. Now a days, unless you listen to a lot of the newer stuff and keep up with FUSE and such, it's easy to get lost. Case in point, there was a "top 100 albums of 2007" on yahoo the other day that some blogger came up with. I consider myself fairly music savvy, especially with a lot of the newer alternative/indie types, and I'll willingly admit I only recognized 15 to 20 of the bands/albums on that list. The only major label cd I can remember seeing on there was Kanye's "Graduation" and Radiohead's new album.

You just have to stay away from the mainstream stuff and do a little digging, there's still good rock out there.

How about the FOO FIGHTERS! They are so
great. They can stand up with the STONES and Zeppelin any day of the week. Listen to their new CD it's awesome.

Nickelback belongs to the radio crowd of which I am far far removed from and I'm planning to keep it that way. Led Zeppelin was great in it's day but todays Scandinavian Metal is truely amazing!

I agree. The public needs to stop buying the crap that record companies shove at us. But they'll blame any decrease in sales on downloading instead of finding fresh new bands that would actually interest people.

There are still good rock bands out there.

Buckcherry
Hinder
Seether
Velvet Revolver
Shinedown
Puddle of Mudd

Yup, it seems rock is dead... We still have the old records though! And as long as one person listens to old rock, its still alive.
Long live rock be it dead or alive!
