Piano Trouble?!

Question: I am now learning to use the damper pedal.. (The 3rd pedal) It holds the sound of the key after you release it. I get that, but what are the other 2 pedals called, and what do they do?

They dont hold the sound like the damper pedal does.. can anyone explain?

the damper pedal holds the sound, yes. The left petal is the soft pedal (una corda) and u could lock it to make the piano sound much softer. The center is not commonly used, called the sostenuto pedal. On a grand piano, this center pedal could slow down the tempo of your song. I don't have a grand, but on my upright (and most others) it is a practice pedal that makes the sound softer than the soft pedal.

well hi!!
I think these pedals are for increasing or muffling volume
here's wt u can do:
go to ur piano n play it without pressing any pedal

then press the other two pedals one after the other n you'll see the difference between their loudness.
hav a good time playin!! ;-)
