Why is the "New Lynyryd Skynyrd" tryn to pass themselves off as The or!
Question: There is only two original band members out of the seven. the singer is terrible compared to Ronnie Van Zant ,they sound nothing like original they made a promise to not reunite the band after the plane crash .in my eyes Lynyrd Skynyrd died in a plane crash

Johnnie , Donnie, and Jimmie Van Zant are equally talented with Ronnie. I know Ronnie wrote the old songs. But I love all the brothers and Allen Collins Band...and Rossington Collins...

I saw Johnnie. He's good. Jimmie is good. Donnie was good in 38 Special and VanZant.

I was 12 when the plane crashed. I grew up believing it was OVER...and in like 1993, I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd. You won't convince me it makes a difference. Lots of groups have a change in line ups. Especially a group that size.
I believe it's more of a tribute to Skynyrd, not so much as trying to pass themselves off as them.

You might be surprised to learn that some of the OLD bands, such as from the 50's and early 60's actually have no original members, but have simply purchaced the rights and tour as those bands.
the new lynard skynyrd is supposed be a tribute to the old lynard skynyrd
well, the singer is only as close as they're going to get to ronnie, considering it's his brother...this happens to a lot of bands when a member dies and they have to replace him, in particular a lead singer, but in the case of skynyrd it's multiplied because of the multiple deaths in the plane crash and other ensuing deaths...it's sad what has happened to this band which was once so great, but we can only live with what we got...perhaps we can argue this more if the members had left instead of died, but there's a time for everyone to go and the band decided they could go on without them, so let them be
