Does your country station play any Dixie Chicks songs?!

Question: Where I live in the middle of the USA the country music radio stations very very very seldom play any of the Dixie Chicks songs. I liked some of their early recordings (Earl's Gotta Die). Have they been completed bansished from the country music scene?

Yes they still do, I think they are great and got a bad rap for speaking their minds. I know they spoke bad about our president, but look what the rest of the nation has done when talking about Bush. They apparently knew something we didn't. And it wasn't like they threatened him...So I think radio stations should start playing their music. It's a new year, quit holding grudges.

It seems like the most rebellious fans cling to them like martyrs. I personally feel anyone who goes to England and uses a concert stage watched by all our military and Gulf war supporters and denounces our President, while reaping the royalties of the #1 single "Travelling Soldier", is basically deserving of the negative publicity.

I was stationed in England, and if I'd seen that happen at a concert I paid for I'd ask for my money back.

Everyone has a right to an opinion, but it's the way you display it that decides whether you have class or not.

Yes, the station I listen to never stopped playing them. In fact, after the controversy (which was simply absurd) they played more of them. I will always stand by the Chicks.

Note to your_unc...: The First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech. I lived in Tx when Bush was Gov....yeesh, what an idiot he is/was/and will always be. I don't care if he is president, he is not my president and I believe the Chicks had every right to say what they did. This does not make me a myrtr. I have ALWAYS loved the Chicks music and always will. I don't agree with Toby Keith's politics, but I like his music anyway.

Learn some tolerance and acceptance.

i haven't heard anything from the Dixie Chicks in a long time, i'm in southeast Texas and yeah, i think they're done down here....

Do not listen to country radio, however they are given airplay here in the northeast on AOR radio.

I haven't heard too much of them lately on the radio. I think you're on to something.

They still play them here but rarely.

They would if someone requested them - but they're pretty much out of the loop right now.

I am up in Canada and We love them, they still play their songs and when all the controversy was happening, they played the hell out of "Travelling Soldier" The only thing I didnt like was when they went on tour, they did so well in Canada that they overcharged for tickets, they were really expensive. I wanted to go see them but I was due with my son within a week of the concert. I love the chicks and we would be ashamed of Bush too, I am actually ashamed of our current PM for being so up Bushes ***.

Well, the stations in my area still do but not often.

here in chicago, i hardly ever hear US 99 play them. and there is another radio station i listen to which is 98.3 and they never ever play them. They mix the new with the old... and the getting old. lol.
