Hip Hop sucks , it requires no skill, and is oversaturated with terribles 'a!

Question: I am a huge hip-hop fan . I like hip hop music but MOST of it sucks. It seems as if you don't have to be talented to even become a rapper. I think that is why people dismiss rap music and say they hate it. Does anyone agree with me.

I completely understand. There may be several good hip hop artists, but they are grossly outshadowed by the infinite number of completely untalented, overmarketed ones.

The music industry has a lot to answer for on this one. They get an idea in their heads of what hip hop or another music style should be, and then market the crap out of it, mass produce it, and create 'artists' who are talentless freaks, while real musicians and artists, who are actually good at what they do, get nothing.

That would be why so many people hate rap and hip hop. THey've never heard good rap or hip hop, because of all the other crap. IT's like country music -- there's a few amazing songs, but most of it's garbage, and that's why people hate country music so much.

Personally, I don't like hip hop, rap, or country music, but I appreciate it when I hear good quality music, even if it is hip hop, rap, or country.

I still listen to grunge music and rock, because I am so profoundly disappointed with the crap they are producing right now. Maybe when music starts to sound like real music again, I might go out and buy a cd.

Yo dude..

1..2....3

Comin up wit da dopest rymes, better den da new york timez..
watch out cause im on yahoo
doesnt mattter im lookin atchoo

Well I agree with you there but no one else is going to take your opinion to heart because you are not black. Ironic isn't it? =\

And your point is?

HIP HOP MUSIC IS GREAT BACK THEN WHEN PUBLIC ENEMY WAS OUT BUT HIP HOP IS NOT DEAD IS IT SI JUST GOING THROUGH TRAILS AND TRABILATIONS BUT I LOVE HIP HOP MUSIC TO

Im not gonna say it takes no skill, but a lot of those artists sample rock or pop songs and use it in theirs...
so they may be lyrically good writers , btu as far as playing instruments, most of the time i think they dont even try.

artists are music afficionados with years of music
education and talent..

rappers and hip hoppers are ordinary people babbling rhymes to the beat of the drums and acting like clowns.

Yes! Speedcore and trance for life!

i didnt feel like readin them shits homie....watchu writin a book? nextime cut them shits down preciate cha

Rap music does require skill. Some of it you can't understand to begin with but I know I couldn't sing/talk/rap that fast. The only song I can rap to is the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song.

I wouldn't even touch this normally, but....You must be talking about that commercial MTV crap. There are a plethora of underground artists that are creating phenominal music out there (myself included), they just aren't able to get the exposure. Check around, you'll be suprised what you find when you turn the tv and radio off and listen.

........SHUT UP

First of all, I would make a distinction between hip hop and rap with hip hop being a sub genera.

I do think it takes a certain talent to be able to rap. I know that I sound like a complete fool when I try. I don't listen to much of either, but it has more to do with what they are "saying" than the sound. I like Eminem, Will Smith, The Beastie Boys, Run DMC, and some other old school groups. But I don't really care for most of the newer stuff because it's about money, b*tches, hoes, and so forth. The main reason why I like Eminem is because he actually has something to say.

I agree wholeheartedly, doesn't matter if you're white or not. Lately, rap has no talent...so ridiculously shallow and carnal.

make a five minute long rap song THAT rhymes of the top of your head with no help an tell me if it needs no skill dumb ***

Although I don't like hip hop, I wouldn't say that it didn't require skill. I'm rock all the way. But every profession takes some amount of talent. Not everyone can rap. I sure can't. Just like *and I'm just generalizing, no offense meant* not every rapper can sing.

how can you be a huge fan if you think most of it sucks?

WHAT REAL TRUE HIP HOP ARTIST DO YOU LIKE?
A LIST WOULD BE COOL.

Well, the hip hop today is crap. Now, rappers rap about their money, women, and cars. Back in the day, it used to be all about the hood. The real hip hop artists were KRS-One, Tupac, Eazy E, N.W.A. , Notorious B.I.G., Too Short, Dr. Dre, Snoop Doggy Dogg, the list goes on and on.
Now, we got people like Soulja Boy singing a piece of ****.
Like Nas said, "Hip Hop Is Dead.

You right....Gucci Mane???.....Shawty Lo???.....Lil Bow Wow????....People like them are wack

a lot of rappers out there have skill. but unfortunately the not so great ones have the cash. record companies like $

Why are you a huge fan of something that "sucks"?
There are wack artists in every genre of music.
I also don't know why people compare rock to rap all the time. When I hear a lot of rock, it sounds like people that can't find the "real" beat so they just play really really fast, and don't know how to sing in the pocket, so they just scream and hollar.

LOL!!!ANT
Don't listen to them sh!ts if u can't hang homie,
preciate cha!

YUP YOU ARE RIGHT, MAN!
I AGREE WITH YOU!
HIP HOP TODAY IS SUFFERING WITH THE DISEASE YOU MENTIONED.
TODAY RAPPERS DONT HAVE ANY TALENT.
ALL THEY HAVE IS BRACES ON THEIR TEETHS & THE RHYMES THEY MAKE ARE WORSE THAN A DOGSHIT!
NOT ALL RAPPERS ARE TALENTED.
MAY GOD HELP RAP MUSIC TO BE BACK IN THE MAINSTREAN MUSIC GENRE.
ANYWAYS WEST COAST GANGSTA RAP IS THE BEST!

I like rap but some people in their songs are representing, trying to hook-up w/ someone,or angry

But 2day rap kind-of is a lil LAME

im wit u yo its getin fake dares no more point to the songs comeing out now jus dance moves it kinda rub off on some good rappers(well that where good)like 50 cent but after get rich or die trying(the album not soundstrack)he went fake n jouned da lil fake group but we still gots ludacris gillie da kid well dats about den we got da old school stuff o n eminem he comeing back wit king mathers but no date for wen

Hiphop rocks and it wil keep rocking 4ever... HIP HOP RULES! yO!!!!!

I can agree that some verses get kinda sloppy but I still love the genre. You might want to learn a Southern Rap song or two.

I was thrown off by this question because the title is a very ignorant one at that. You being a Hip Hop fan should know that it takes lots of skill to be a rapper. Here's a question for you: How long would it take you to write a song and hook, that could become a hit? Like KRS said, "build ya skills"

its not even music

I agree 100 percent! I like Classic Rock! Rapping takes rhyming, so why not be a poet?

i hate hip hop. i like GOOD music that takes TALENT to play. (and that does NOT include the recent "bands" like FOB amd MCR). ya want good music? listen to these songs:

John Frusciante - Look On

Everclear - Santa Monica

Sublime - Wrong Way

Foo Fighters - Hey Johnny Park

Jimi Hendrix - Castles Made of Sand

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Sexy Mexican Maid
