What do you think of Kurt Cobain ?!

Question: I wanna know what you think of his lyrics mainly... and what you think of him as a aperson..
I think hes one of the few people that is real to themselves in this world.

'Im worst at what i do best , and for this gift i feel blessed'

'im so ugly. but thats ok, cause so are you'

'being someone else, is the waste of person you are'

and do you think he has had any impact on the rock genre and modern music ?

I personally think he was a great man, his lyrics were truly touching and many people myself included could relate to what he said. His voice, it had such an honest sorrow...
I'm not completely clued up when it comes to current music - the 80s and 90s are more my "forte", but he was the voice of the youth when he was alive and I'm sure that /many/ of the bands that followed considered Kurt and the rest of Nirvana as influences.
Nirvana has been one of my favourite bands for a /long/ time now, and probably will remain so for years to come - I think Kurt was and is misunderstood by many - but the greatest minds were always misunderstood in their own times.

-glares up-
So do you feel that we should move on because Jimi Hendrix and John Lennon died? They're probably more celebrated that Kurt is and if you seriously think that once an artist is dead we should move on and forget then I pity you.

Rest in Peace Kurt.

On the off chance "your dumb mom" reads...

Nirvana was a grunge band. Nothing emo about it.

Kurt died from a gunshot wound to the underside of his jaw. Not an overdose. There's evidence of murder, not suicide.

Don't comment when you're ignorant to the facts. Report It

  • Great songwriter/ Guitarist of a Kick asss band,

he was often thought to have bipolar and was a heavy drug user who blew his head off with a shotgun in April 1994. Many people believe he was murdered.

    RIP Kurt. you were awesome

if you dont know anything about Kurt Cobain you really shouldnt answer!!!!!He didnt die from and overdose..he shot himself in the head..He was brilliant...stupid.....talented...worthl... fast...too slow....thats too many things for any one man to handle...but his music was genius!..and he started a genre known as grunge and never got to enjoy what he started!

    "real to themselves"

How do you reconcile that in relation to a dead person then?

    But back to your question.

I don't reckon he's had any positive contribution to lyrics or songwriting.
Just another band you either like or don't like.

As for him as a person.....well, back to my original comment.
Can't take a suicide seriously really can you?

I mean, if that isn't an admission of failure then what is?

Just another bit of a pop star who lost the plot and ended up dead. Seems kind of a waste to me.

He has diffidently made an impact in the music world!!! He was a real person just like me and you, but his talent was his music. And you know what his downfall was.

    He's dead.

    Move on.

I think leaving your wife and child for good is a terribly selfish act.

    Talented but weak.

    he was totally over rated.

    He is now dead.

dead rock star who sounded like a downs syndrome fella had been let loose in a recording studio.

what else should i say/everyone is gay
find my nest of salt/everything's my fault

He was a silly boy..I'm sorry..I liked his attitude but not the way he directed it..being self-destructive was only magnified by the business that became a heavy load that was exploited by others...he will be forgotten like the Pixies etc..He was another tormented soul..RIP.. Kurt.

    kurt cobain = musical god
wrote lyrics that were true and real
never let his feet off the floor, down to earth, modest good person
"never get your hope up and you wont be disapointed"
    R.I.P kurt cobain

I think he was a real ARTIST; he drew, he wrote he sculpted, he sang, he played, he composed and he was so down to earth and so real. bad childhood he had but great artist he is, was =(
I m worst at what i do best , and for this gift i feel blessed'

I think he was an amazing artist (even though nirvana got big before i was born) I think his lyrics are the way they are so everyone that it's not for will ignore it and dismiss it as another stupid rock band and people it's meant for will see past that and know what he's talking about it's to bad he died I'd of loved to see them perform in person, hear new nirvana songs, and hear what he had to say about the crazy stuff that's going on today... *laughs at thought of his response to current music*

he has a great voice, thats it

He was a good singer/song writer

he killed himself.........I dont know that that makes him a role model or anything like that.

I think he was a talented and very troubled man. We'll never know how his musical career might have continued. He left an important cultural legacy. And he also showed for the masses that untreated depression and drug addiction lead to disaster.rip

One of the Grunge genre's legends of all time. He believed what he believed. Stubborn as well. He definitely had a mind of his own.

Matter of fact, he's known to be an inspiration to many Grunge artists and different bands alike.

    R.I.P. Cobain

he was a good song writer who had trouble dealing with fame and fatherhood so he overdosed and shot himself

    dead

He was a great guitarist and singer and married Courtney Love which led to his huge amounts of e use and eventually himself

He was so talented. he definetly has an impact on todays music.if it wasnt for him we would still be listening to hair rock

kurt cobain has been dead 4 13 years

His lyrics were excellent. I'm sure he was a great guy. But I think he's pretty overrated overall..
It's obvious what an impact Nirvana had, however looking at bands like Matchbox20, Creed, Nickelback etc...is that really a good thing?

I think he's a wuss and a loser for blowing his brains out. Anybody who kills themselves is just dying for attention and is a the biggest chicken in the world for whatever reason they can't go on with their life.

Musical wise, I like his lyrics.

    god voice...to bad he died

    A very troubled soul!

The only thing he left to the world that is notable is that picture of himself with his head blown off, shortly after he did the world a favor and offed himself. If you wish to view it, pick up Slayer's "Undisputed Attitude"

    His death was tragic.
I didn't really listen to much of his music but I listened to some.
And I what I listened to was awesome! \m/

hes just a depressed dude who killed his own sorry @ss by overdosing..

sh!t, if "emo" were created early, cobain would be one of them

EDIt : dude, i dont listen to As I Lay Dying..
    theyre stupid

i listen to Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, Aborted, Devourment etc

"dont judge a book by it's cover"

    r.i.p vitek and wayne knupp

ps haha, i know cuz "im a waste like you!"
