I'm more of a wannabe.
I got the pick-up, Ilisten to the music, attend every rodeo I can and I've got the boots....but that's about it.
Oh, and I lived in a small town up until about a year ago, but still worked in the city.
Living in a country, I interpreted and no, I am no "country girl" yet I do enjoy a few "country songs".
Living in New York City. No country here.
I grew up one of five children, living in a three room house with no indoor plumbing or running water. Our only source of heat was a wood-burning stove. All five kids slept in two beds in one room. My Mom and Dad slept in the living room.
Until I went off to college, I milked cows by hand with my Mom for a little spending cash. We had twenty-nine acres and my grandfather's farm adjoined us with another 60+ acres. I went fishing with a cane pole in a river that circled part of the property.
I've helped kill hogs, cut wood, strip tobacco harvest corn by hand, and haul hay til 3 AM just so it wouldn't get rained on.
Oh yeah, and I grew up listening to Ernest Tubb, Kitty Wells, Roy Acuff and the other Opry stars.
i sell used tire s to make ends meet,live in a 2 room shack by a railroad trackk, drive an old ford truck with a flag in back,drink my whiskey from a brown paper sack,chew my backy from a old foil pack,still smoke luckies and thats a fact,listen to seven hanks sing on the poech out back,eat sardines and cracker snacks, i lke rc cola and a peanut pack,i still like kitty wells and drink water from a well,and if you don"t you can go to hell! and i too meet johnny cash,and if i ain"t country,i"ll kiss your ***,plus i typed track with 2 k"s on back ! HELLO!
Well, I live on a huge farm. We have cows and chickens, mostly. We are surrouned by trees and fields. I live on a gravel road. We have a very large farm pond, which we swim in. We can walk down the road without getting our asses ran over. lol
I'll explain what being country means to me. It means enjoying the simple life. working hard to provide for my family, and doing everything ya can to make the best out of everything in good times and bad. it means giving all ya got, even if the shirt off your back to your family, your friends, your community that you live in. it means accepting all those around you, whether they are a firecracker or a fairy. it means not goin' out and robbin' people blind livin off welfare while sittin on your butt and not workin'. it's not the music you listne to. its the heart you have and how you use it. it's not the clothes you wear, its how you wear hte clothes you got. and can afford. it's not going to church and preaching At every person you meet. its having a general faith in all things good. and guiding people in the right direction without them even knowing its being done.
Country is all things that the country songs are about. and the people who like to listen to the songs.
