Male- It has to be Barry Manilow. What a lousy singer (but good songwriter...what happened)! The perfect example of a man without pride...or testicles. Spawned generations of like performers (Chad Kroeger, Scott Stapp, Eddie Vedder, Michael Stipe, and so on).
Female- Britney Spears. When the talentless get access to technology, it can produce disasterous results. Case in point: a tween slutbag who got by by being a puppet of a mega music empire. Add computer vocal manipulation and viola! You have yourselves a media creation! That is why we get what we get nowadays...shameless copycats.
