Question: What does that actually mean, when somebody calls shorty, or shawty. what does that actually mean? I'm not THAT short! And it's even happend when the person who has called me that is shorter than me! It doesn't make sense!

does mean young kid sumtimes, but if you hear it in other contexts it is more widely used to mean female. if a guy tell u dat, he most likly tryin 2 get wit u.

its another name for a girl or another person your age or a friend. but thats just how me and my friends use it
