green day for me too. they were the very first actual rock band i had heard, and i fell in love with them. i then expanded my horizons to different types of rock, more specifically alt. rock. like mcr, linkin park, etc. . . i owe a lot to green day. =)

30STM definately.

The Exies opened up for Hinder this summer and now they are one of my favorite bands & Black Stone Cherry toured with them (Hinder) a lot as well so I looked up their stuff and ended up loving it.

Well I got into Insane Clown Posse and then because of them I got into several other Psychopathic artists.

yeah, Panic! at the Disco got me into Fallout Boy, I think it is kind of cool the way they advertiize each others bands, even though they should be competeing against each other.
Panic! at the Disco might name their new album "The Devil and Pete Wentz are in my soul" Pete wentz is the bassist/leader/lyricist for FOB!

Tom Petty basically introduced me to rock in general, particularly classic rock.
Radiohead introduced me to alternative (PJ Harvey, Coldplay etc.)
Porcupine Tree got me into Progressive rock

out of really liking evanescence, i was introduced to atreyu, korn, flyleaf, paramore...some pretty cool bands!

:wumpscut: completely changed my music preferences. ^_^

Well, I used to listen to a lot of hip hop & RnB, but ever since I started listening to Fall Out Boy, it has become my favourite band and I also listen to a lot of rock now. Now I'm OBSESSED with Fall Out Boy! =)

i can think of 2-ministry and skinny puppy

yea,
MCR pretty much introduced me to rock or altenative.
And i thank them for that !
=]

For me it was DEEP PURPLE and URIAH HEEP that I loved so much. After that I listened to
BLACK SABBATH kind of introduced me to metal music. From there it was IRON MAIDEN which I admire greatly and then on to METALLICA which is so dense and dramatic.

Fall Out Boy introduced me to Panic! At The Disco...
Timbaland introduced me to OneRepublic

The Sex Pistols

introduced me to The Clash, Generation X, The Ramones, Stiff Little Fingers, and more.

Well yes and no. I was getting into the hippie music, especially Mamas and The Papas and Grateful Dead and Sonny and Cher...then I sorta wandered off to Jefferson airplane and found out that I loved them. Then, this really groovy dude told me to check out Janis Joplin, and here I am, totally digging her. There is no stop I think. Also, I got into Beatles after Grateful Dead, and my friend introduced me to The Doors, and after that, I discovered Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. Oh and Janis Joplin led me to Jimi Hendrix, otis Redding, Bob Dylan, Odetta, Bessie Smith, Pink,The Who, and even Tom Jones.

Oh and then listening to Bob Dylan led me to discovering Joan Baez.
Phew.

the first band that i've ever liked was switchoot.
now i like all different genres that are similar to rock. i still like switchfoot but i've opened up to screamo, emo, and other stuff.

From First to Last was the key to the majority of everything I listen to now.

of course! my friend introduced me to fall out boy earlier this year because she was starting to get into them and well because of them, it lead to pretty much EVERYthing i listen to now. like paramore, flyleaf, yellowcard, evanessence, underOATH, MCR,... and the bestest of them all LINKIN PARK. sorry but they're so goddamn amazing.

ok QUEENSRYCHE introduced 2 ALICE IN CHAINS then ALICE IN CHAINS introduced me 2 PEARL JAM then PEARL JAM introduced me 2 SOUNDGARDEN.

i remember getting dragged off to a black flag concert by my friend as a teen and here i am now with 27 piercings and a basement filled with the new york dolls, the clash, dead kennedys you name it haha

Nirvana got me into other grunge bands and from there the pixies and rites of spring and from rites of spring minor threat and from minor threat tons of other punk and hardcore bands etc

Blackmore's Night got me into Rainbow & Deep Purple
