I have been steering students towards Meyers for Jazz Alto or C*s for Classical Alto or Tenor.
For Jazz Tenor students, not looking to spend a lot of money, its a little more difficult, Meyer's just don't cut it on tenor...
I have spoken to several people lately (good sax players) that have tried this piece, and are recommending it for their students for jazz playing... and it is the cheapest mouthpiece out there..
Rico Graftonite.. $12.79... buy it here

For Jazz you want the B or C chamber.(C will be the loudest/brightest.. also the most difficult to control) . in probably a 5 facing which will be middle of the road.

For the rest of you sax players out there.. I know the price seems ridiculous but I'm telling you good friends of mine are telling me these are real gems. I couldn't believe it either!!

that is NOT a mouthpiece, it is just a little adhesive sticker that you can put into your mouthpiece.

you should be able to get one for US$20-30 at a music store, a plastic one.
