Officially Jay "stepped down" or QUIT as you call it, but that's because Def Jam wasn't going to renew his contract so it was either call it "QUITTING' or call it expiring (aka fired)
I love Jay though, so he's good. His 40/40 in Vegas is throwing a huge New Years Eve party.
