Old school vs. New School metal?!
Question: Which generation of metal is better?
Personally, I'd definetly go with the Maiden and the Priest on a Black Sabbath.
But I find a lot of talented metal bands today would be so awesome if their vocalist would actually sing the lyrics instead of scream it. Instead, I see these bands just like I do with the rest of the untalented ones who lack the musicianship of the older generation.

You just mentioned three of my favourite Metal bands.
The thing is, you can never say that one band is /better/ than another - because music taste is subjective. I know of people that /hate/ old school Metal and prefer other types that perhaps include screaming or growling.
I like both, I just prefer older Metal.
There /are/ many Metal bands around that still sing rather than scream [if that's the vocal type that you prefer] - but Hardcore/Metalcore is becoming a very popular form of Metal and other genres are not being heard as much - but that doesn't mean they're not around. Dig deeper and I'm sure you'll find some greats.
I /prefer/ old school Metal personally, but there are greats from all time periods, in my opinion anyway.
No contest, old metal rules and always will. Maiden, Priest, & Sabbath are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd say old-school metal, because it's original, and has solid roots in rock 'n' roll. New-school metal is very derivative and seems to be little more than a "who is more badass" competition. Boring!
The Old generation is definetly better! The new bands are just so commercial and you can't hear good music from them.

This new metal is a pale imitation of the real thing. All these new bands just seem to be copying from everyone else and more interested in posing for the camera and making a marketable image for themselves. The music bites me, too. It is uninspired and doesn't have any originality or obvious creative talent behind it. It is just horrid to watch overall. Cannot hold a codpiece to old school metal!
