I'm 13 and learning to play the guitar.......?!
Question: I already taught myself to read tabs but i have no idea what the heck a chord even is !?!?! Are there any good sites that teach you how to play chords and what a chord is??? O... and also what are some good, easy songs to play if your just starting out? I have an electric and i can play the intro to Iron Man... Plz is there anyone out there that can help me?? Plz help me!

Just go to youtube and search it. You can find video lessons there. But once you learn power chords you can play almost any Punk Rock song ( like Paramore, Boys like Girls, etc.)

Welcome to the Legion of Rock! There are an infinate amount of tools at your disposal. There are tons of websites, books, DVDs, that can help you. There are magazines, and newsletters, and teachers! First off, you should go to your local music store and buy a guitar book for beginners. Than you can go online to www.ultimate-guitar.com forums, and go to the guitar basics forum so you can learn even more. If you really want to commit than you should get a teacher. If you want to learn about how to read music and how to understand basic musical concepts, go to musictheory.net. Some easy songs to learn are Paranoid, Back in black, breaking the law, whole lotta love, purple haze, sunshine of your love, yellow submarine, most ac/dc and beatles songs are good. I wish you well and hope you learn to love the guitar as much as I do. NEVER give up when starting out and just quit. With practice, you will get really good! Good luck, Rock On!
