What Porcupine Tree album should I get?!
Question: I want to get a Porcupine Tree album today. This will be my first album by them. What one should I get?
If it helps, I'm more into progressive metal, and I'm a big fan of Opeth.

Thanks Cinnamon!
If you are a fan of Opeth, I highly recommend Deadwing. It is hugely Opeth-inspired with pieces of metal. Mikael Akerfeldt has a solo during the album's climax, "Arriving Somewhere but Not Here".
2nd choice would be In Absentia, also Opeth-inspired.
No matter what you buy, you should never be dissappointed.
I've starred this with the hope that Conie or Sarah will see it and answer - they're much more knowledgeable than I am about Porcupine Tree.
Though the first album that I bought and became /very/ fond of was; In Absentia.
who?
Fear of a Black Planet was recommended to me – has Alex Lifeson of Rush on a track or two…I heard a few tracks and they were great!
In Absentia!
