Low alto, high soprano can I sing rnb/soul/jazz/pop?!

Question: I have a high-ish voice and I wanna sing, most of the people I like or that I think have an amazing voice or singing style are alto, and this is making me think. Im high alto, low soprano, could I still sing jazz, soul, pop, rnb with this voice?
I dunno, I just feel my vocal range is awkward and wont sound good singing soulful music.

There are people with different voice types who sing rnb/soul/jazz/pop so you definitely can. Just make sure you are incorporating the styles each genre demands. Singing classical/opera calls for a different type of style. Listen to people with a similar range. An artist i can think of with a fairly high voice is Stephanie Mills in the song "Love stop making a fool of me--http://profile.imeem.com/4oeM-w/music/sX...

Ofcourse you can. You can sing any type of music you want with any vocal range. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

not everyone one has an amazing range.. but some people have songs that suit them very well.. A lot of people who sing and are well known will avoid certain songs, due to their range as it would sound silly, even if they changed the key of the music.

as long as someone enjoys singing that's the main thing. I can't sing for toffee, but have to in private when doing music, to make sure the lyrics fit the arrangement 80%.

as long as people can sing in tune, and hold a note that's the main thing
