Question: Now, before everyone starts insulting me, listen up; I'm not trying to insult the band in any way, they're not my style of music, but whatever. Anyway, whenever anyone does insult MCR, all the fans say they love them because of what the band stands for. Well, what do they stand for?

I disagree with everyone, basically.
My Chem represents life, in every aspect. The good times, the bad times, everything in between. That it's okay to be different, to feel down, to not be okay. That you're never alone. No matter how bad you're feeling, there are five guys right there with you. They send messages of hope and never giving up.
Most people assume that because they wear black and talk about darker themes, they must be emo and telling us to slash our wrists and whatever else. They actually couldn't be more wrong.

MCR means: My Chemical Romance.
They are an emo band. Although they have many fans there is a large group of people that believe they are " a whiny depressing band for teenage girls". They have however some nice songs like "Helena" and "I'm' not okay".
Most of their songs are related to the "emo attitude" towards life. Their songs are thought to have deep meanings, about death, teenage life, etc.

does they stand to get alot of money off of lots of screaming girls help? they don't really seem to have anything to stand for. just to make their own music *shrugs* its not like there trying to show any political view or anything. they just seem to sing vaguely depressing music aimed at young teenagers.

They stand against violence. They stand for their love of music and they stand for being there for the kids who are going through tough times. I remember I went to their show and Gerard said:
"If you're going through depression or have suicidal thoughts, talk to someone about it. I don't care who it is, just talk. It will help and it will get better."
He and other members of the band (his brother Mikey) have gone through major depression and they're there to help kids who are going through the same problems. It shows that they really care about their fans. Gerard is also against women degradation. He got really pissed when a local band at a show was asking girls to take their tops off. He said to the whole crowd:
"Ladies, you better spit in their f****** faces and yell 'F*** NO!!!"
