For anyone who watched the 100 greatest songs of the 90's by vh1...?!

Question: Did you feel all the bases were covered... or did you think some songs/artists were left out?

I feel like I "grew up" in the nineties and in a way that music sort of defines who I am... Granted, the span was only three years old to thirteen, but I really was into music at the time (I'm 20 now).

They had the early 90's (california rap and soul) then the mid 90's (when bands like counting crows, Barenaked Ladies, Duncan Sheik, and one of my fave songs "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain,... etc... were introduced), then of course it wouldn't be the 90's without the introduction of teen pop (N'SYNC, Hanson, and the Backstreet Boys) along with the new wave of grunge and metal (Metallica, Korn, and of course #1 itself Nirvana...)

Anyways, I feel like it did a good job of defining my generation (Generation X) if you would say....

I did notice that artists like Usher, Aaliyah, and Limp Bizkit (plus several more) were neglected....

What made the 90's music special to you....?

i thought they covered the 90s pretty well but yeah not so much of r&b. im surprised they didnt have Boyz II Men or Smashing Pumpkins. and a lot of those artist had more than one major song in the 90s but i guess they only wanted to show one to be fair.

not sure

i loved it, i thought they did a great job. and only one song from each artist was so refreshing.

yes i think that everything was covered. Nirvana was def the #1

I happened to disagree with VH1, like almost every doc. they make. 100 Greatest songs.... according to who? Greatest (fill in quality here) what about the songs. Seems they should re-name it "100 Songs we liked, and think you'll like too, of the 90s". Also, the "Metal" documentary.... I shudder to think that wasn't a comedy.

I think it was good. although it could've been better how much can you honestly fit with good details and facts in that amount of time?

i watched it and I thought it was great.
Looking back I would have to say that I STRONGLY prefer modern music to 90s music.
But the reason why I enjoyed the program on VH1 is because it brought back memories. The music just takes me back to being a kid.

well, I'm a HUGE Red Hot Chili Peppers fan, and I was surprised that "Under the Bridge" was number 15! I mean, I think that it should've been a little better, but whatever... I like the nineties music because it was a different time... where funk and everything else was accepted and music could be made without as much discrimination. However, I don't think that 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' should've been #1. I've heard better music.

i thought it was good.... it was a re-peat... it was voted by the fans on VH1.com a while ago........

i am in my 30's so i thought it was a good list.....

i'm only 19..(turned 19 like umm. 3 days ago.) i didn't watch the whole shoe.. but yeah.. i didn't see usher or aaliyah and limp bizkit either with is TOTALLY weird because those were my top favorite artists.. along with spice girls, hanson, nsync, bsb..hah..

but i think it's just childhood altogether that just is special.i'd give anything to go back to it.

Heavy Metal, like Pantera(gods of metal) and Korn.
Alice In Chains was great as well, and of course Nirvana.
Who else, there was Pearl Jam and The Cranberries.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers were and still are great, much to my surprise.

pearl jam, tool, alice in chains, nirvana and clutch made the 90s special to me. i still listen to all of them every chance i get. i believe rock is now dead except for these bands. r.i.p. layne stayle and kurt cobain

Well i was born in 91, but i remember listening to nirvana and other alt. bands and i always loved it. Its the whole reason i like rock now.
