It's tough because you got Black Sabbath you created heavy metal. Then ya got bands that perfected and brought metal back to life such as Judas Priest and Metallca. Metallica is my favorite of those three and I think I'd say they're the best.

I just find it sad when people say that bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for My valentine, atreyu are metal or even talented. If you dont know what real metal is, dont bother listening to metal at all

But soon it will be Trivium. Seriously. These guys are only in their early 20's and listen to what they can do already.
