Been working at playing guitar for almost 2 years now...?!

Question: Its like I have plateaued, even though it seems like I am not very good at all, I try to practice for an hour a night and a good amount on the weekends, any tips you want to share?

I have been on a web site www.guitartricks.com, it has great lessons, I also look up tabs and such too

It doesn't matter so much how long you practice, but what you practice. First of all, scrap the tabs (by which I assume you means songs). That's not going to help. Secondly, I don't know if you do it or not, but just screwing around isn't practicing.

Try this: First, do some warm up exercises. They'll help prevent injury and make it when you start practicing, your fingers are good to go. An easy to transmit one would be like:
--12--13--14--15
across all six strings then back down.
--15--14--13--12
Play some scales in different positions, too. One non-scale based warm up I like is like:
E------------1--3--4-----
B--1--2--4-----------2--3--5
Yahoo keeps cutting the tab down, but if you'll notice, the B string goes index, middle, pinky, the E string index, ring, pinky. So go up like that and back down...
E--18--17--15-----
B------------------18--16--15--

Remember to do it, at least start it, slow. Otherwise, you could hurt yourself.

Now that you're warmed up....

Pick 2-3 good lessons. Do them each for like 15-20 mins straight. Do that for like a week to a week and a half. Don't do anything else. If you got a guitar in your hands, you're doing one of those two or three lessons. I can pretty much guarantee results.

My dad and uncle play awsome! I also have a personal friend who has gotten REALLY good. I'm sorry I have no "pointers" other than their direction. They may have some good idea's. They are all 3 in Alabama.
