At my wedding -which was many, many years ago, my then new wife and I left the church to Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy' from the 9th Symphony. Wedding tunes come and go in popularity. Here in the UK there was a fad for the Toccata from Widor's 5th Organ Symphony after it was used at a royal wedding. Princess Anne, at her first wedding, used the Rackosy (sp?) March. So as the first answer said - it's your wedding, so have what you want. But, I have to say, I'm not sure what you mean by Mozart's Violin Romance. Are you sure you don't mean Beethoven (who wrote 2)?

It's your wedding!! Do what YOU want. I personally find both songs beautiful so either one would be a great choice. If you are tired of the traditional be different and original. I don't think that it's very weird at all.

You should walk down that aisle to what YOU want! It is your special day, don't worry about what everybody else does, make your wedding special and choose something to express the joy in your hearts

The traditional favorite and it has been ever since it was first heard, is the "Bridal Chorus" from Richard Wagner's Act III, "Lohengrin": "here comes the bride, all dressed in white------------".
So, I guess whether you want to be traditional or not is the question: to each his own.

Most weddings I've been to use Pachelbel's Canon in D as the processional music, until the bride starts her walk; then that damned Bridal Chorus is used. *twitch*
But, back to your question . . . I say do what you want. It's your wedding, so, pick what music you want. However, I can't say I've ever heard of a Violin Romance by Mozart.
"Pachelbel's Canon in D" is probably the most used piece for the father and bride walk down the aisle. Shouldn't the mother of the bride be seated?
Sorry, I've never heard Mozart's Violin Romance, but you could try Jules Massenet's "Meditation".
It's a beautiful piece, and most importantly, it means something to you-- you didn't just pick it because everyone picks it, and that's whats the most important!
OH THANK GOD...someone who doesn't want to walk down the aisle to Pachelbel's Canon! I have been wondering when people would start to get sick of it. I think it's wonderful that you are interested in doing something different. It will make your wedding more interesting and unique. It will be personal. I think it's a lovely choice. In fact I think if you choose ANYTHING that isn't the canon...it will be a good choice. :)
Choose anything you want but do not choose the Pachelbel canon.......people are sick of it.
