Beatles Music ~ Symbolism?!

Question: I just reacently got into the beatles and one of my favorite lines in a beatles song is
"Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes."
My interpretation of this line is: Images=Thoughts; Broken Light symbolizes broken hope; dance before me like a million eyes=follow me and mock me, etc.
So my paraphrase is "Thoughts of broken hope mock me everywhere i go." This line was stuck in my head directly after my girlfriend broke up with me :(
Sorry for the essay... but that was to get your creative juices flowing... Anyway, there is a Beatles song titled "Happiness is a warm gun" What is your interpretation of this song? Can you paraphrase a line? :-) Ill tell you my interpretation after I hear yours. Be creative, serious, but also have fun :)

It is my belief that this introspective song that John wrote is full of metaphors and similes to express a moment in his life where he was feeling "one" with the universe.
When he says "words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup" he is describing how easy it is for him to find the words to express such a deep emotion.
And he wants you to know that he is feeling everything, even people's pain and joy and the feelings are so poweful that he can feel them as if they filtering through his mind and engulfing his soul-"pools of sorrow waves of joy are drifting through my open mind, possessing and caressing me."

And he can see everything and everything can see him and he is drawn to these visions of prisims of light with all their beautiful colors and spectrums. He sees all. He understands. "Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes They call me on and on across the universe".
And then he lets you know his mind is filled with thoughts from saying all, feeling all, seeing all, being one with the universe, with his felllow man, and with the magic of this.
"Thoughts meander like a restless wind" (there are so many thoughts going through his mind because he is thinking about ALL THE UNIVERSE) "they tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe". He is telling you that as he hears all the thoughts and all the thoughts come through his head he is overwhelmed by the immensity of it all. But you see, he is not troubled because now that he is one with the universe, now that he has found peace, nothing is going to change his world.
So to sum up I believe John is saying that he has come to a place where he has found an answer for his life and he has opened himself to seeing, hearing, feeling and knowing not only his place in the universe but accepting it with love and positiveness.
It is one of my favorite Lennon songs.

And if you do not mind me saying The Beatles will live forever. They have their place in the universe.

don't read so much into songs. music is just about being in the moment and enjoying the rhythm. don't start going all analytical. you ruin the song!

I love the beatles but id never really noticed the symmbolic meaning of it..
thanks!

I completely disagree with not analyzing.

You find the true meaning within the song and it allows you to truly connect. Awesome job :)

When John wrote those lyrics he was probably very stoned.
So don't think you could infer much from it.

However, music and lyrics often speak to our souls and what's important is what does to YOU.
Enjoy it at your leisure, and, who cares if nobody hears what you do?
You are the important part.

well happiness is a warm gun is a really great song i love it (i could even sing it exactly how its sung on the original) but anyway
um i feel its talkin about shooting up some drugs to make all the pain go away
hence the words: "I need a fix 'cause I'm going down
Down to the bits that I left uptown
I need a fix cause I'm going down..."
but there are so many interpretations of any beatles song that its hard to decide what it really means (only the geneuses themselves know)

ive been into the beatles since i was like 2 so i know quite a bit about them (i dont know everything ofcource, its hard to know every detail of one persons life let alone 4) so yea

I LOVE THE BEATLES
