I have never been to a concert in my life and I went to my first one a few month!
Question: Now one of my co-workers want me to go to a different one but I just can't stomach it. It's a bunch of strange people dancing around and the singing (rapping) doesn't compare to the CD. Everyone thinks I'm wierd for not liking concerts so what should I say?

Live music always sounds different from music that is recorded in the studio. It can be hard to get a good sound from the P.A. system in a room as large as an arena or concert hall. (I have worked live sound systems, trust me, I know).
I would agree that many bands do not sound that great live.It can be hard for some bands to reproduce their studio tracks live.
Sometimes a band playing live just has a different feel because of the atmosphere of the venue.
I am not much of a dancer and would just as soon those who are wouldn't bump into me.
So, I say, just play your CD really loud and have your own "concert." It sounds better and is a whole lot cheaper!!
go to a good band, thats all i got for ya. i go to good concerts and they are awesome.
Be yourself, if you don't like concerts then don't go. Concerts are different depending on the venue, seeing a concert in a bar is very different from a stadium show.
You have to be honest with your co-worker and tell the truth about what the environment does to you both mentally and physically. This way your co-worker will not take it personally and you won't have to ruin your relationship.
It doesn't matter what the others think. If they know you better, you will be invited to something else in the future. Something you would enjoy.
It depends on who you see and where they play, some places have bad acoustics, and some bands just suck live.
