Why are rockers afraid to admit they like Bon Jovi?!
Question: I always wonder about that. I listen to the likes of Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Van Halen, Poison, Uriah Heep, you know the classic stuff, I even like stuff like HIM, Haste The Day, Killswitch Engage, Goo Goo Dolls. I pretty much listen to every type of rock, and that includes Bon Jovi. I just wonder why people are ashamed of saying they like them? Bon Jovi got a better voice than 90% of all the other bands.

I think one of the biggest curses for this band was the the frontman was good looking....Because women liked Jon most men started disliking him,saying he has no talent,etc etc wich is utter bullocks....you can't stick around for 25 years if there is no talent...I love Bon Jovi!!!
The new schoolers are embarrassed because Bon Jovi's been around forever, and is even making records that cross over to country. I think Bon Jovi has their own following and isn't constrained by what the public would pigeonhole them into.

I don't know about everyone else, but I can tell you I honestly don't like Bon Jovi.
He is talented, I agree. But that doesn't mean I have to enjoy his music. He is too generic for me.

he's kinda turning country so maybe that's why i don't like him as much as i used to for that reason

Well, I'm a huge rocker, I listen to all of that classic stuff, but I'm not afraid to admit I like Bon Jovi. Not my favorite, but I really like them (or him, depending on if you're talking about the band in general or the singer), especially the songs Dead or Alive and I'd Die For You. I don't like they're recent stuff, maybe that's why.
Cuz Bon Jovi ( as hot as he is) has never contributed anything mind blowing, life changing, or (music) historicaly modifying. All their music is genieric mass consumption rock/pop aimed at women 35+. I 'll admit I have a couple bon jovi cd's and know more than one song by heart. But as a band they've never really conrtibuted anything to the music industry that will hold historical ground.
