Will Lupe Fiasco help save hip hop?!
Question: Seriously with all the wack *** hip hop artists out there its gettin old...I just got the new Lupe Fiasco CD and its rediciously good...I mean retarted good....He mixes a little jazz but still keeps it hood....So much meaning to his songs.....Thank god for artists like him!

I doubt it. Seriously, how many people do you know (Not on the internet) that actually listen to Lupe? I know maybe 3. Most people don't understand his lyrics because he doesn't dumb them down (like Jay-Z) and they have no idea what they mean. People today arent looking for good quality music. Their looking for a nice hook and a hot beat.
He does have the talent to bring back real Hip-hop but he won't for a couple of reasons. People define "bringing back real hip-hop" as changing the hip-hop music that is in the mainstream or at least changing the kind of hip-hop that is most visible. "Real" hip-hop will never be resurrected because the sheer magnitude of rap in today's commercial world. There are just too many listeners that don't care about "real" hip-hop who perpetuate all the wack stuff that's out. Lupe doesn't have the commercial appeal to blindside the industry into a reversion towards the Hip-Hop of old. He's got talent but I don't think his heart is in becoming the next biggest thing. Real hip-hop never left, its just buried underneath all the mainstream stuff...

Lupe fiasco is a great rapper, but to me if he has to bring the game back, he has to have that international success (which he doesen't have to me).
In music you gotta have good melodies & hooks,
for example, 50 cent, the guy isn't the best rapper, but he changed the hip hop game to me, i used to live in africa, man when many men, in da club and all came out people started to listen to hip hop more, the guy got far in less than 2 years,
It could also be promotion that can get him far, but his music isn't that bumpin' to me, he's not diverse in his music styles, but the cool to me is better than food&liquor
