I highly recomend staying away from the Nu-metal stuff that alot of people have been mentioning (not to offput any opinions) but if your not into anything 'too' Extreme then I'd recomend the "Classics!" of -er ...modern -ish metal
stuff like Pantera, AC/DC, older Metallica etc.
if you don't mind going a little heavier then maybe some exodus or Mercyful fate (lol if you don't mind over the top vocals with amazing guitar work and a little bit of a laughing good time!)
all in all just browse around myspace and check out different bands, that way you can hear and check out some songs to see if you like em
you can also check other bands they have on their top freinds to find music similar to what your checking.
