Hip hop isn't dead, it's just suffering a bit. We've still got Lupe Fiasco, Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def etc etc. Wu Tang have just dropped 8 Diagrams and Public Enemy's new album is the best thing they've done since Nation of Millions.
Yes, the mainstream isn't what it used to be, but the same happens with anything that's making a lot of money - sooner or later it will be taken over by suits and sell outs. These people having got nothing to do with real hip hop though.
If anyone's to blame it's the record buying public - it's all about supply and demand.

I agree with his Statement, because nothing new has come from Hip-Hop recently. All of it sounds the same and rappers name aren't very cool with all the "Lil Joe, Lil Jon, Lil Wayne, and more Lil's." It's not very creative either as most hip-hop songs lyrics talk about money, murder, and sex over and over. Plus, all the beats are starting too sound the same as well.

Hip hop isnt dead but its in a coma right now. And its not the current rappers. Its the music industry and these sorry radio stations that make these current rappers. Its about money honestly. Its not about the love of the music anymore, its the love of the money. Whats the best way to get a person to like a song? Play it over and over and its sounds like crap at first but it gets stuck in your head and then ends up on the ipod. The music industry pays the radio stations to play these crappy songs over and over. Its a form of brainwashing people
