Whats the Different Between Rap, Hip Hop & Gangsta Rap?!

hip-hop has more melodic vocals and a more flowy beat
gangster rap is the same as rap, but about thug life.
Hip-Hop is a culture including, MCing, DJing, B-boying, and Graffiti.
Rap is a division of hip-hop. Basically its just rhyming over a beat.
Gangsta rap is a division of rap. This is basically when artist talk about the gangsta lifestyle. Think NWA.

IMO.....
Rap is the doing thing. all tracks of this music genre have a person "rapping" in them. Calling hip hop music "rap" is like calling boy bands, James Blunt and Robbie Williams "Sing" music. We dont we call it pop or rock.
Hip Hop = a feeling, or breakdancing, or clothing style, graffiti, or djing skills, a way of talking.....culture. Hip hop isnt just music but it includes the original music invented in New York City. It was invented & became an alternative to gang culture and home made zip guns and knife fights.
gangsta rap tells stories from any hood or place where trouble goes on that is not going to fit into a Fresh Prince song.... There are some examples in hip hop music of "reality rap" or gangsta rap where the artist is telling a ghetto/hood story but the track itself isnt very catchy (like 50 cent, Dre or Snoop) - these gansta rap artists (Too Short, Scarface & Mobb Deep) are not primarily trying to sell records to compete with Madonna & Beyonce. They are trying to make a living, not sell out to the musical form they have chosen and make a living while they do something they love doing.
Record companies use the term rap to sell music, like punk or rock or classical. Deeper fans ,may, have the opinion that music that stays true to the original art form is hip hop.
I dont consider 50 cent, Snoop and other pop stuff like that to be "hip hop". The commercial stuff is just "RAP".
You can sell bucket loads of records and still be considered hip hop. Busta Rhymes and Redman & Wu-Tang all stay very true to hip hop.... IMO.
One thing alot of RAP records dont have is some of those fundamental elements of hip hop in them anymore, like scratching for example. .. . Dj Premiere (with Group Gangsrarr) always gives you that old skool hip hop flavour to remind you what you are listening to.

Tricky question. Rap is merely a particular method of delivering lyrics, similar to talking but based on a strict meter, and using some inventive rhyming themes.
Gangsta rap is rap that describes typical gangsta activity.
Hip hop is a more umbrella term, like most musical terms it's impossible to pin down, you have both lyrical and instrunmental hip hop, lyrical is merely rap, however instrunmental is rap without the lyrics, focused mainly around samples and percussion loops

gangsta rap= rap that consists of many slang words that are mostly only understood in certain cities/states. Also mostly degrades women and involve many gang-related words(i.e. three 6 mafia)

So, rap is a part of hip hop.
Gangsta rap is a genre of rap. It usually talks about gangs (obviously!) and more street related issues. A lot of people consider gangsta rap to be more a West Coast thing (the East Coast version is more mafioso rap) and the best known originators of it were probably NWA.
