What is your definition or qualification for a real musician?!

Question: Mine would be that they can't be 'normal', and have to eat, sleep, and breath music, and that they should not only know facts about the bands and the members, but about the guitar and their inspirations and really feel the music, not just listen to the top 100 charts for fun

Besides all of what you already said I think that they should be passionate about what they do. If they're in it for the money, then they really don't give a crap. Also I really like musicians with meanings in their lyrics. Elysia is a really good example. their lyrics are just WOW.

Yep, what u said. Covered it all. I hope ur a muso..... i like meeting other REAL muso's... not may others that i have met

They should
a.play an instrument
b.understand music theory
c.be open minded about music
Therefore, Britney Spears is not a mucisian

A real musician is somebody who can get an audience's attention and keep it directed on them through their music. A real musician is someone that when they play an instrument or sing a song we feel the emotions that are being expressed in the music.

To me real music is something that just seems to flow no matter how chaotic it may be with all the guitar riffs and solos. A band is good if they can actually play. Not just stand there try to play but say they look good doing it

Besides the obvious...The answer is blowin in the wind.

A real musician does not acknowledge confinement.
The are no rules, boundaries or horizons.

And as you say, it helps to "not" be normal.

'Scuse me while I kiss the sky....

what some musicians don't seem to understand, is you don't have to play at 110% all the time. sometimes only playing at 70 to 80% can get the fans attention just as much as peak performance. Yeah, you can play your guitar at 200 notes a second, but can you play at only 30 notes a minute? that to me is a talented musician, being able to tone down just as well as loud and fast

Any performer who DOES NOT lip sync at there concert shows!!!!
