Classic Country Music Fans--Which are your favorites??!

Question: In country music there are many artists who do what are called recitation songs where they speak some of the words. Some artists that do a great job of these songs in my opinion are Red Foley,Hank Williams Sr. & Porter Wagoner. Please tell us who you favorites are and if you would like you can name the songs. Thanks

Hank Williams Sr. AKA Luke Then Drifter, And These tears you shedding now,why they just interest on the loan.
Merle Haggard, some recitation,"Sing Me Back Home"
Jimmy Dean,I don't remember the exact name, But he speaks of his daughter getting married, talks about her childhood before her wedding day.
Porter Wagoner<Green Green Grass Of Home
Roy Accuff,Bad Girl Down The Street

Almost any Red Sovine song (he could bring a tear to a glass eye)
"Teddybear"

"Giddy-Up Go"

Red Sovine
Red Simpson
Bill Anderson
Tex Ritter
Jimmy Dean
Just to name a few.

Red Sovine --- Teddy Bear
comes to mind...
gotta love it, brings a tear to the eyes of every parent I think.

How about Conway Twitty and George Jones???

And might I add, you are looking particularly handsome tonight Tommy.

Well, I'm not a big country fan, but sweet Dolly can write a song that really tells a story like The Coat of Many Colors and who isn't moved when she does the recitation in I Will Always Love You? Oh, and although it's just an introduction, I will always like to hear Conway, saying, "Hello, darling. Nice to see you." Nice question.

My absolute favorite is Bill Anderson - Still
A classic which is arguably country is Elvis - Are You Lonesome Tonight?
Got to throw in C.W. McCall- Roses for Mama.

Two that come to mind right now are George Strait "You look so good in love"...and Freddy Fender "Before the next teardrop fall's" especially when he sings it in spanish.

One of my favorites is off of a concept c.d. titled "White Mansions". The track is called "They Laid Waste To Our Land". I forgot who sang the song but the narrative part was done by Waylon talkin' bout the horrors that General Shermon done to the good folks in Georgia.
I also really like "Mama Hated Diesels" by Commander Cody.

"gentlemen of the jury, the judges' speech began"....that's my favorite

Johnny Cash - Ragged Old Flag
