I don't talk trash about rap. I respect the genre, I'm just not that into it.

I like rap mostly cuz i live in brooklyn so its like mad popluar here.....i know some people who hate it tho. im ok when ppl dont like rap but i get pissed tho when they keep saying rap is trash and etc (btw i dont live in the suburbs)
I just think that they probably heard those crap songs off the radio like Crank That and Chain Hang Low.
it's there personal right to hate rap, some people may hate rock, country, jazz or classical music. It doesn't make them bad people, it just their personal preference.

I love music. Rap & Hip Hop happens to be the genre i'm into. I'm not real into the screamo type of music...because I don't understand it.
So I think for those who don't like Rap...it's because they don't understand it..ya kno what I mean? And we think they're crazy cuz it's real simple to us...
But they think WE'RE the ones whose crazy cuz we don't like the screamo and don't understand it.So it goes both ways ya see. And people who talk trash bout "rap n hip hop" are ignorant in my opnion. I don't talk trash about any music. Cuz to me it all takes a certain talent. I just prefer rap.
I don't think people hate the rap music. I think they can't understand the lyrics or maybe the music had dirty lyrics. I won't say that I love rap but I can say I like rap with clean lyrics. And no I'm not a hip hop head. I just like good music.

I shouldn't pretend I know a whole lot about rap, but I appreciate certain forms of it. I don't dig at ALL the bling bling, women are hoebags, or drug dealin aspect of it. I do like it when rappers one-up eachother bc/ I find it's almost like a lyrical way and very intellectual and well-thought out way to argue. It's like public arguing in an art form. I like Nas "you can hate me now", I only know the most popular songs by Tupac, I know a little Eminem, but he can be a broken record sometimes. As far as the newest rap that comes out, I don't pay attention bc/ most of it is just a beat with someone yelling "WWWHHHATT" in the background (ahem..lil john). I liked rap a ton better when it was a new genre of music and poetry about life in "da hood" as you call it. Now, there's very little coming out that appeals to intellect, but it seems to further divide the races and really feeds the misconceptions blacks and whites have about eachother. Oh, yeah and I love just about everything that Linkin Park puts out and they do some dabbling in rap in their songs. Ok, that's my analysis per my limited existence. HOpe you like it.

I'm not a huge fan of Rap, although there are some artists that I do like. I do appreciate that there is a certain amount of talent involved....you'd have to be mad not to know that, even if you hate the music itself

Rap is the shortened version of crap.

You know how when kids begin to talk and then they start doing that sing-song rhyming with everything they come upon. Well, that is the very basic form of rap, and that is why it became so popular amongst kids. Because it is the least common denominator when it comes to "music". Almost anyone can do it. When they say that something is so easy even a three-year old could do it, they literally mean that when it comes to rap. Three-year olds do it and have been doing it for centuries.
This is why people hate rap so much. Nothing is required of it. Anyone with the mental capacity of a three-year old can do it, and the closer to the mentality of a three-year old then the easier it is for them. The people who have trouble rapping are those with intelligence because that just gets in the way.
People get irritated after awhile hear those little kids gibber gabber, and hearing the same stuff flow forth from a grown person is even more irritating, especially when mixed with "lyrics" intended to degrade.

I understand some rap is greatly influential (Nas, Tupac), but when referring to Birdman, Lil' Wayne, Nelly, etc., this is not msuic. Not to mention the pain in the *** Soulja Boy.

I dislike Rap ( which has NO elements of true music ) as much as I suspect that you would most probably dislike the music that I enjoy.--- Much of Rap IS about HATE.--- I am not insecure nor do I think you are.---- I am, however, by virtue of your question, almost certain that my spelling & grammar are far superior to yours.
I'm glad you like it and sing it and buy it.
