Question: I'm considered a Honky-Tonk singer with a Bluesy style..I was born in Florida, sang and played in a small rock-n-roll band while still in High School..one week after graduation
i moved to Nashville and the next two years i sang in small bars and honky tonks with my older sister..recorded my first record in 1974 with "Ace of Hearts" Label..and landed a "WRITERS CONTRACT" with GALLICO PUBLISHING. the next several years i worked odd jobs in NIGHT CLUBS..JUST LOOKING FOR A HIT...I was being called "THE NEW GEORGE JONES AND LEFTY FRIZZELL"..A move to WARNER BROS RECORDS in 1977.."STRUCK GOLD"!
I STARTED A CONSISTENT RUN OF HITS AND AIN'T NEVER LOOKED BACK...Had a dry spell for about 6 years, but now I'm doing a project with some of the NEWER country artist..WORKING ON A COME BACK!

You don't make em easy for us greenhorns...lol I will say that I have often thought that John Anderson had some similarity in vocals to George Jones but I never would have thought of it without reading the answers above.
