COUNTRY GROUP ALABAMA..any FANS....?!

Question: I sure am..and TODAY IS "RANDY OWEN" BIRTHDAY!..
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RANDY!

Answers: I sure am..and TODAY IS "RANDY OWEN" BIRTHDAY!..
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RANDY!

My first screenplay was called Close Enough To Perfect. It's about a cheerleader who lost her legs in an accident on a parade float in high school, and the boy who wants to see her in college, but the frat granting his full-ride scholarship is going to blackball him for being seen with an "unsightly" amputee on campus. Alabama's song is used in the last scene, when he mocks up a prom in his dorm room because she wasn't invited to hers.

I won a contest with it when I was at UCLA, then I turned it into a TV series and I've written 8 episodes so far. I still want to call the series Close Enough To Perfect, and if it ever gets on the air, maybe I'll have the band re-record it as the theme song.

How's that for being an Alabama fan?

I've always liked them, but also, I share something with Randy.

His middle name is Euel, my first name is Eual. Yule tide greetings and Happy B'day Randy.

Phurface

Yep. I heard that on the radio this morning. I'm sure that's why they asked a trivia question about them on their website.

I,m listening to one of their first songs now..."Love in the first degree" that was back when country groups won us over with songs like "Bed of Roses"..."I guess it never hurts to hurt sometimes"..."Lady takes the cowboys"...and of course.."Jukebox in my mind".. Weren't they just the best?? Thanks Okie I think I'll listen to Alabama today:)

!!!Happy Birthday Randy!!! and thanks for the memories, Roll on brother... Roll on.

I am a big fan of Alabama. In their glory days they were able to put out songs that reached the everyday working class Joe (or Josephine as the case may be). I liked the video for " 40 Hour Week" but my all time fav was "If You're Gonna Play in Texas" LOVED that fiddle solo!!!!

Soooong, song of the South, sweet potatoe pie and shut my mouth.
Goooone, gone with the wind, ain't no body lookin back again.

Good good group! Not only is "Song of the South" one of my favorites, I love "Dixieland Delight". They have a host of very good songs.

Alabama is the soundtrack to my formative years. My Dad was a huge fan when I was a kid. All I can say is "The closer you get, the further I fall." My parents song when they were dating was She and I.

oh hell yes, Alabama is THE best country group by far.

There aint no sense in even touchin' this. They were the Band of the Century.
So take a pick. Everything they do is Great!!

Happy Birthday Randy!!!!!!!!!!

i sure do love this group, Happy birthday to ya man!

I love them. My whole life has had Alabama in it. I remember them getting artist of the decade for the 80's, even though I was young. I love their songs. Great, great group.

I saw them in their farewell concert it was awesome I miss those guys happy birthday randy.

Loved Alabama since the first time I listend to Country music when I was a kid. 18 Wheeler is my favorite.

Good thing they got their big break in my home state of SOUTH CAROLINA at The Bowery in Myrtle Beach.
