Why do so many people hate Chad Kroeger from Nickelback?!
Question: I love pretty much every song by Nickelback and think Chad Kroeger has a great voice. So I was a little surprised to learn that many people not only just dislike him but despise him. I'm just curious why. For people who don't like Chad Kroeger/Nickelback: Is your dislike the same as how some people love rock or rap but despise pop or country? Is it either a "you either love him or you don't" kinda thing or has he done something bad that so many people dislike him? Thanks for the answers! :)

It comes down to a lack of artistic integrity and what many would call the devaluation of music as an Art form... A lot of people, myself included, feel that he releases neat little jingles that show no amount of creativity or invention. Musicians look at Nickelback songs and notice that they are often the same chord progressions just played in different keys. Some times he doesn't even bother to change the keys...

Basically, it's a disgusting example of how music has become about delivering entertainment as a commodity. No one seems to care about creating something new, and Nickelback seem to be leading the pack in a total lack of regard for Music as an art form.
This Is New To Me.... Us Aussies love nickelback and chad.... me and my sis have seen them when they came over, I say that anyone that dislikes Chad, are just envious and jelous that he has it all =)....

Honestly I think it boils down to the "you either love it or you hate it" sort of thing. That style of music, Nickleback, Creed and so on, people feel very strongly about it. I think it's because it's a very blunt style of music, people are blunt about how they feel about it. You know how people are a little more calm about how they feel on genres such as alternative and rock? These terms are much wider than the rough style of singing bands like Nickleback have adopted. I guess that style of music just speaks to a specific group of people.
