Country music star and author Roseanne Cash will undergo brain surgery.
Cash is expected to make a full recovery from the unnamed condition, which a press release described as benign.
The singer-songwriter and author, the daughter of Johnny Cash, was a country star based in Nashville in the 1970s and 1980s.
She won a Grammy in 1986 and racked up more than 20 Top 40 country hits.
Cash has been based in New York City since the mid-1990s. This period marked Cash's evolution into a book author and Americana/folk artist.
Cash, who signed with Manhattan Records earlier this year, says she will return to the studio in 2008 to complete her next album.
She has canceled her remaining concerts of 2008.
