i dont understand how they wouldn't be considered hip hop? Lil Jon is a bad *** producer dude and does not Always produce "crunk" music... soulja boy is for the younger crowd. if you dont like them then dont listen to them. if you were a 15 y/o girl i bet you'ld thing soulja boy was some good stuff
do some research man, lil john got his start as a producer and just cashed in on the whole "Crunk craze" so you my friend do not know hip hop. hip hop is set to influence more people than just you.

Rap is for thugs such as Lil Wayne, Young Buck, Pastor Troy, and etc. hip hop is for people who are mainstream such as Bow Wow, Soulja Boi, T.I. and others. Learn your facts before you try to say something you obviously know nothing about.

I have always separated the two...I always thought that rap was a particular genre that we listen to and hip hop was a culture, from the way we dress to the way we talk, walk, think, listen, and learn.

Rap is rap. Rhyming words! Bubble Gum gangster music played on the radio for all you to memorize and sing along too while some old fool in some office gets paid.
Hip Hop is a way of life. The music is more poetic and based on lifes lessons and our own greatness and self respect. Most of the time its not catchy and hardly ever played on the radio. When was the last time KRS ONE Redman Keith Murray and so on were played in heavy rotation on the radio??
