Derek Webb isn't mainstream. He's known as a "Christian" artist, but a lot of his songs are just typical rock songs (if you don't think you'd be into Christian music). He recently had a song featured on Grey's Anatomy ("Name") that's pretty good.

The Elders are an Irish band out of KC. They are fantastic. Don't know your style, but my two fav songs on American Wake are "Moore St. Girls" and "Ballymun Road."

They aren't mainstream nowadays, so depending on how old you are, you may not know of Urge Overkill or Seven Mary Three. I'd start with Saturation or Exit The Dragon for UO if you were to get an album...Bottle of Fur and The Break are two UO songs that were on the radio. I love View Of The Rain off ETD. For 7M3, American Standard or Rock Crown are the best albums. I'd recommend "Headstrong" and the title track on RC. Those rock the hardest if that's what you're into. There's lots of good mellow songs too.

Another mainstream, but unappreciated album is the Slash's Snakepit album Ain't Life Grand. I don't see how anyone who likes hard rock wouldn't love that album. "Been There Lately" is a pretty good sample of that album.

Good luck!

i think you might like some of these
Crashdiet- Riot in Everyone
Negative- In My Heaven
Philler- Fragile
Deathstars-Cyanide
Adema-The Way You Like It

Buckcherry

I know you've probably heard of them but they're my favorite band so I had to recommend.

"Everything" By Josh Todd

Buried way beneath the sheets I think she’s having a meltdown

Finding it hard to fall asleep she won’t let anyone help her

The look on her face a waste of time she won’t let go gonna roll the dice

Loosing her grace starts to cry I feel her pain when I look in her eyes

I want ta be I want everything, I want everything

Somewhere she is on the streets trying to make things better

Praying to God and breathing deep gotta break this long obsession

(Pre-Chorus)

(Chorus)

If I had everything would I still want to be alive or want to be high (2x’s)

Now and then she talks to me and sometimes writes me letters

(Pre-Chorus)

(Chorus)

Your eyes, never close your eyes open up your mind and you can have everything
