i don't know. she is so boring just like most music is boring now. since 9/11 music has been depressing, stupid, or boring.
To me Nora Jones is like Alanis Morissette One is from the 90's and one is from the 2000's and they could be interchanged if needed. haha....yuk
opps, I have to disagree with you about Norah Jones.. her voice is just as amazing as Sarah McLachlan, u just a touch of adversity in your mind when u hear her songs... they aren't half bad.
Listen to her first CD "Come away with me" and you'll know. She has a nice voice. She is also the daughter of Ravi Shankar - a famous Sitar player. Ravi played with George Harrison of the Beatles. Ravi is famous. People want to see how well his daughter can play. She plays well.

I guess some of the lyrics are comforting, or
*gasp* some people actually like her voice...i'm not sure.
I actually saw her in concert a couple years ago (my wife liked them) - aside from knowing 1 song, she really put on a great show... now her "handsome band" is far from being handsome - the lead guitar player looked like George Castanza from "Seinfeld" & when they would do closeups of him playing on several large screens, it was hard not to laugh...
I think the reason people like her, she has a smooth sound and an unusual lazy voice with a touch of sweetness to it & you don't hear that very often, it was a nice mix..
But let's face it - when you have artists like Stevie Nicks, Carly Simon, Bon Scott, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, none had qualifying voices for American Idol, but they were extremely popular in their time...
