I totally agree with you, even I could pick an old song, speed up the tempo and shoot a bikini filled video........I do love Old School though. (I've got the key. Who's got the secret?).

True. But then again, Let Me Think About It and Exceeder are both - as far as I know - original songs.

I like them both, but I think Annie and Royksopp make better dance than any of the acts I've mentioned put together. Give them a listen.

I think Dance is the new Pop. And the term Dance music is being slapped on pretty much anything with a fast beat and rhythm. There are many examples, just take a look at the Top40 charts.

don't like today's dance music. we call it fast food music because you definitely hear that stuff in taco bell and mcdonalds. and speaking of mixing 80's tunes with todays artists try "fergilicious" with "supersonic". she stole the beat! not cool. or the song "nasty girl" by vanity6 that beat has been used like crazy, even by brittany spears. what happened to originality?

Totally with you 100% on this.

I love my music but hate that if I am asked now what music I am into and I say dance/trance/house that people automatically think I like that happy hardcore pish that is blasting out of all the compilation albums these days....

I preferred when it was a nod and a wink among the ones who knew...

As soon as they named it underground it no longer was!!!

R.I.P - Underground movement of dance... ;0)

Commercialised like every other decent thing in this world!!

No no! The old stuff they remix is great! Just like Armand Van Heldens 'I Want Your Soul'! Mostly, these days all you ever see in dance videos is half naked women!
