Answers: just curious. i see alot of people hating on bands Ex: fallout boy, MCR, Greeday etc

lack of originality, mostly. a lot of modern bands are like that, so its harder to find good stuff sometimes. i stick with the beatles :]

Squeekee voices, depressing music, and no originality.

Peace!

when they are overrated and whiney

when they become tabloid whores

When their band name is Creed.

When mediocrity is praised.

I hate them if there song blows, try this awesome song!
X Japan - Tears

When their songs all sound pretty much the same and that one sound isn't even very good.

if i don't like their music.

. . . and they get too much attention??

i dunno, i don't really hate bands, just dislike them.

Usually it's because the media over plays their music to the point where I don't want to hear their voice. Or cause they pretty much take stuff that's been done and try to do it but do it badly.

Manstream (when 13 year old girls are obsessed with them ex. Fallout Boy).

P.S. My Chemical Romance is the best band ever. Sorry but its true.

well judging by your avatar (ringo) you obviously have good taste in music (beatles) lol...
but anyway, i hate bands that are unoriginal. thats the number one turn off for me. and also if they just sound bad, that sucks.

Over play on the radio. Do they keep it real? Originality. I hate it when all the songs sound the same.

when bands change their sound to become more mainstream. But what pisses me off about fob and mcr is that their fans think they are the most amazing musicians ever when really they aren't even close.

Any rap because that is not "music" and the "lyricks" are rubish.

Opera because I am not gay. Plus it grates my nerves and is usually in a language I do not know.

Personnel change: For example, I love Van Halen with David Lee Roth and I hate Sammy Hagar. Can you say cheese? lol

Other than that nothing original or worse yet a band that has been around for a long time and their sound has not changed much. That is why people are hating on Green Day they have been sounding the same for years! Even if a group gets accused of "selling out" their original format it is ok with me because even if I don't like it, hey at least they gave something different a shot! Some people will like their "new" sound some not but at least they TRIED something new.

heres a few reasons i tend to dislike a band:

1) simply the sound--too poppy, too sissy, too poser(y)
2) guys in girls pants (im sorry it has to be mentioned)
3) lack of talent---seems lots of talentless people are getting "famous" for the wrong reasons
4)overwhelming publicity----if its on tv, commercials, radio every freaking 5 minutes it gets old quickly (plus it becomes mainstream)
5)attitude----if their gonna try to be all "hardcore" when their as bad as s as hannah montana, it makes them look pathetic
6) i think who they interact with has reflects on them as people...see pete wentz and ashley simpson...ewww....
7) crappy lyrics and song meanings
8) lack of hard work, determination and strength...if they think they are all freaking that...their 15 minutes of fame are gonna be gone quick...if they have a distinct sound and feeling that relates them to their music....have their own sound...not what is "popular" at the moment.....

other than that if they suck, they suck, it might just be that simple..... :)

When bands change their sound to fit with trends or do something that completely goes against their beliefs (if they have talked about what they believe) just to make money. Also, bands that speak out against their peers in a rude or insulting way.

when they get overplayed and u and everyone who knows their head from their azz knows they suck!!-but ppl still say "oh i love this song, band" argggggghhhh!!!!

I hate a band namely when they are built and catered to sell records. I hate how often I hear people tell me how much they LOVE a band....but truthfully they only like that one single they had on the radio. Most of the time, they buy the album only to find that the album sucks as a whole....and yet they still love the band cause of "That one song"....

Another HUGE turn off for me is any band trying to sport any sort of fashion statement, and or sell a product that has NOTHING to do with music....Seeing Fall Out Boy in a car advertisement was pretty much saying "We are sellouts...come love us"...or seeing Avenged Sevenfold all decked out in the darkest most "brutal" clothes they could, sporting a grill, etc. etc.

Lastly, it's generally their popularity compared to their actual talent that bothers the crap out of me....I know of TONS of bands that work their asses off to get not only the talent to pull off some crazy stuff, but to put on an insane show while doing it.....and then you get all these other bands that basically just play the same chords over and over, singing the same lyrics as the band next to them, etc....and yet everyone thinks they're the greatest thing since Sliced Bread.
I even saw an album sticker the other day that said "This band is darker than Darkest Hour, and more Brutal than My Chemical Romance".....How can you use the phrase "More brutal than My Chemical Romance"....that's like saying "This Crayon is more Red than this white crayon here".....comparing apples and guacamoles.....

i used to be in love with those bands but all of those members have had fame gotten in there heads wayy too much....now im in love with the jonas brothers.. i recently just met them and went to there concert over the weekend!.. i love that they wear purity rings and that they do free meet and greets

...uh not sure i guess its maybe the musics soul like sometimes it'll be like ok? and it could sometimes be like Awesome! but seriouly i dunno..hmm..

main reason - i DON'T go to their concerts to hear their take on politics, i'm there for the music ONLY

when they are pointless
this could be as in devoid of talent, no originality, in it for the $$$. they have to contribute something strong to the industry.

the "fans" who say they are fans but they just listen to them to sound cool to their friends.

I never really hate a band, I often hate a band's reputation or the way they're portrayed or the hype that surrounds them. I like originality and independent thought, which a lot of people lose sight of in their desperation to agree with the crowd and therefore feel safe and secure in "their" opinion.

A great example is the Beatles in fact, I love thier music, some of the best pop to be made, but the myth that surrounds the legendary Beatles has grown so large and all encompassing that to suggest that they weren't the best most artistically original band that ever existed ever automatically makes you opinion invalid to so many people. Because how could so many people be wrong? It's like we've forgotten that it's an opinion and even if everyone in the world agreed, which they don't, it would still be an opinion. It kind of puts me off of their music to be honest, which is a shame because it is good music. Just in my opinion, which I have a right to, it's not the best music.

Sorry that got a little ranty but I actually got berated the other day for saying the Beatles weren't the best band ever and it really gets on my nerves. It's the same way with every other band that gets immensly popualr, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd etc. And I'll occasionally get so fed up I say things I don't entirely mean just to prove a point and the whole thing has bred a kind of "hate" for popular music.

Sorry about my rant about being sorry about my rant. But then the other thing that can make me hate a band is their attitude. An obvious lack of originality or excessive trendiness puts me off a band real quick like, which is bad when record companies work so hard to shove the same old crap down our throats for as long as we'll pay for it before they push the next trend. But it's been that way for a long time, we just don't remember all the cheap knock offs of yester-year because they were cheap, so I guess until the music business readjusts itself we'll always have to dig for good music or wait 30 years until it becomes retrospecively famous.

But again, mostly I don't hate bands, I just don't like what they stand for, be it sheepish crowd mentalities or mind-numbing unoriginality.

I don't tend to listen to most mainstream bands unless i was a fan prior to their big success.

Mainly because as everyone knows, with fame comes more money, and some (not all) bands lose their former identity that people grew to like about them, just because cash is waved in front of them.

In general i don't listen to bands that sound like you can put them next to another band and couldn't tell the difference.

I respect the bands that are brave enough to actually try a different sound from the majority.

Well, first off, their music. If their music doesn't appeal to me, they're just not on my good list.

What decides if I hate them or not is how big a deal others make of them. For example, Fall Out Boy. I personally don't like them. I don't hate them yet. Now, when their fans are advertising them to me, NOW I hate them.

Sorry, but the bar has been lowered.

When one goes paying through the nose for concert tickets, only for that concert to last for only a short while.
