Same reason they are playing Bon Jovi, Kid Rock and some of the others.. CMT is slowly trying to cater to all audiences. Eventually they will switch from just being country to a little bit of both.

no shes not its just a popular song and i guess a little country but cmt does play bon jovie and hes not country but he did sing song with a couple country artist and carie underwood is also played on mtv and she is country so idk
cmt plays alot of people i don't think are country.
