When referring to the 80's, why so many answers involving Tesla??!

Question: I was a teenager in the 80's and as far as "Little Suzy", "Modern Day Cowboy" & their remake of "Signs", I can't think of anything else they did that made them worth mentioning all the time...

Even the people who liked Cinderella & Poison had no respect for Tesla fans.... Unless they had mullets & Camaro's too..

Because a lot of people only know names and periods , simple. And a lot of people that were weaned on MTV (Gawd..), only know hits. Tesla came out in the mid 80's , and didn't even hit "popularity" status until the early 90's anyway! Man! when Tesla first started out they wore denim and T-shirts and were just a good ol' Rock band , something that Poison and Cinderfella was NOT, by that time the whole corporate "image" thing had taken hold (again...GAWD!). By the way - most of these bands that people lump in with that stoopid "Hair Band" tag, were just good time hard rock, and Judas Priest and Maiden were always (to me...and about 50 million others) just Metal - all good , all loud , all hopelessly hard for parents to control. ....And now, i will spit some names of my real faves at ya:

Michael Schenker Group
Vandenberg
Loudness
TNT
ACCEPT
Nitro
Saxon
Thunder

I was only born in the 80's, but I can tell you my mom listens to all the hairy bands. Tesla, Poison, Motley Crue, Cinderella, and of course Guns N' Roses, her favorite.

I think it goes for bands these days as well. People have a favorite band and diss on another band even though they like both. And may I say Camaro's rock!!

It was "Love Song" that made them popular with the ladies. Their men went along because they used the song to get some. ;-)

I'm a Tesla AND Cinderella fan because they were both extremely talented musically, and they transcended the "Hair Metal" label. Poison was a joke, so be carefuly who you lump together.

because i grew up on bands like Tesla, I remeber when I played my then g/f love ballads. damn I missed those times.

i understand poison but Cinderella was a group very much like Tesla in the fact they were not just some party group .I am sure you have noticed most of the 80s rock groups that have survived till today have had something to say in there music not the Poison lets go out and get high message .that's why you still see groups like Metallica , Megadeath, Queensryche and Iron Maiden they actually wright songs that are relevant

I'm 34 and I spent alot of my teenage years listening to Tesla, and I saw them in concert. I also listened to Cinderella ( and saw them in concert ).

Tesla was just a really talented band with good songs. I always had alot of respect for them as a real band. Poison, however talented and fun, were clearly in it for the p***y. ( Does the Pamela Anderson & Bret Michaels home video ring any bells? )

Anyway, Tesla was also able to change their style without making it sound cheesy, and that's not easy to do.

Cinderella, Tesla, and Poison are pretty much my top 3 favorite 80's hair metal bands, Tesla did a lot more than just those 3 songs have you ever heard "Love Song?". I mean do you have a problem with Tesla, because Tesla, Poison, and Cinderella were 3 of the actual pure hair bands and pretty much introduced it for everyone else.

Dude...*ahem*..."LOVE SONG" forget one did We?

*Edit*
Actually most of these people are correct Cinderella has WAY more musical Talent than Poison
