I don't get why everyone has a problem with Fall Out Boy.?!

Question: Not all of their fans are little fangirls who look at the superficial.
Their lyrics have meaning, and are meant to be interpreted by the people listening to them. Not just senseless phrases designed for mainstream, such as Shakira, Nelly Furtado, and most rap/r and b. However, their lyrics do have meaning also, sometimes.
People have opinions.
Lyrics are not meant to be flat out- they can convey meaning, adding to the mood of the accompanying music.
They mean a lot to a lot of people who gather meaning from the words.
And even though they're all ugly and sometimes the singing is indecipherable, it doesn't mean they're horrible.
However, I am not trying to force opinions on you all.
I'm completely aware of the fact that this topic will get a lot of flames. I also don't care.

I was into the Chicago music scene a few years back, so I saw Fall Out Boy rise from the ground up. I remember seeing them at shows where only 50 or so people would show up, and then they would invite everyone to come to Denney's after the show.

The problem I have with them nowadays is it seems like they some of the decisions they make are done so with little to no integrity. Now I am not one of those elitest that get angry when a band goes to a major label or shows up on MTV. I am happy when bands get the exposure for which they have worked so hard, but there is a line when things just get a little cheesy, and I think FOB, particulary Pete, has crossed that line.

I don't listen to them anymore, but I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that a lot about myself has changed since I was that 17 year old that would go to see them in Chicago 5 years ago, but they are still responsible for a lot of good memories in my life.

I think a lot of the hostility against them stems from making so-called "emo" music mainstream, and Pete parading around with his side bangs and "guy" liner. It comes off as quite annoying, pretentious, and contrived.

LOl. I got no problem with them . . .

I totally agree with you!
I love Fall Out Boy.
There songs have SOOOO much meaning, and they present it in a way, thats so meaningfull!!
Stand for your rights!
You go girl!
Haha.

well i don't think their horrible, and their lyrics are good, but it's just the lead singer's voice mostly that bothers me.

i agree! Fall Out Boy is awesome and their lyrics really do have meaning!

They're horribly untalented.

They're just gay what can I say?
I blame that Pete guy, he is just so hate-able

i dont have a problem with them. i like some of their songs. Some people just have a problem because they have gone mainstream, are on mtv and other popular things.

they suck
emo sucks

>>Not all of their fans are little fangirls who look at the superficial.

But most that come on here asking when Pete Wentz's birthday is Are.

>>Their lyrics have meaning, and are meant to be interpreted by the people listening to them.

I sincerely doubt the vast majority of their fanbase are digging for deep meaning in their lyrics. They're drooling over Pete posters hanging on their walls.

>>And even though they're all ugly

tell that to the fangirls on here

>>and sometimes the singing is indecipherable, it doesn't mean they're horrible.

But that doesn't Help, does it?

Well, considering 60 percent of USA is female and 40% male. Then from that 40% at least half are gay. So there it explains why so many fall out boy fans exist. ANd you probably encountered that straight male portion who probably like rap/metal/classic rock and not some gay pop *** rock.

I think they've kinda sold out... I don't mind them, but they've changed alot...

THEY ARE POSERS

doesn;t anybody notice that they are so into poblisity?? like wtf THEY THINK THERE SO PUNK AND STUFF... it buggs the hell out of me..... i dont have a problem if people like them but yea i see them as little rocker wannabes

i love FOB!! I know all of their songs from their two most recent CDs and I can relate to some of their songs... i think it is mainly just girls that like them b/c my brother and all of his friends hate them but my other bro used to listen to them idk if does anymore b/c he's into screamo now and if FOB does screamo i dont like it ya idk if any of that made sense but w/e

Actually, most of their fans are fangirls who don't care about what their lyrics mean, but rather care about Pete.

They don't have senseless phrases?? Look at their song titles of their recent albums. Notice that all their recent music is mainstream, but if you look at their old music, it isn't senseless and it isn't mainstream. How can you say they didn't design their new stuff for mainstream?

I would pick up a Nelly Furtado record any day over a FOB record.
However, I am sad to admit this...I think the lead singer of FOB is good looking.

i honestly do not look for meaning in the lyrics of songs. i listen to music for good voice and good instrumentals. i think the fall out boys instrumentalists are amazing but the singer is annoying

Their guitar work is sloppy and terrible. Their lead singer's voice sounds horrible live and on CD. Their drums sound like a drunk person kicking a beer can around. Their bass player sucks and is just like Gene Simmons he is a crappy bassist and gets all the notoriety for the band. Their lyrics suck. Their singer is a fat sweaty guy and is of key at every performance.

Most of their albums are repetitive; except for 2 of their albums; and those albums are decent at best.

I have no problem with fall out boy, its just that their are LOADS of bands better then them.

Most of the "fan girls" actually don't care about the music,or the lyrics. They just care about Pete and the band members. As simple as that. I don't like them, and how are they punk?

I love Fall Out Boy. Unlike the fangirls who only know Pete Wentz's name & "how lyke hott he is". I love them for the music, not the looks. =]
