Who were the best female singers of the 60s and 70s?!

Question: Momma Cass, Janis Joplin, Janis Ian, Tina Turner, Gladys Knight, Diana Ross, Grace Slick, Aretha Franklin, Joni Mithcell, Stevie Nicks, Joan Baez

Answers: Momma Cass, Janis Joplin, Janis Ian, Tina Turner, Gladys Knight, Diana Ross, Grace Slick, Aretha Franklin, Joni Mithcell, Stevie Nicks, Joan Baez

Suzi Quatro. Blondie and Annie Lennox. Hope ive got the years right.

Diana Ross was the most successful singer when you put the two decades together. Along with the Supremes, she would be the most successful female in the 1960. The most successful MEN in that decade are easy. I looked it up by year. Elvis, the Beatles, and the Rolling Stones pretty much ran the table back in the 1960s. shttp://www.mtv.com/music/artist/ross_dia...

Even though I'm not a fan of "Babs", Barbara Streisand was the most successful female singer of the 1970s. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbra_Stre...

EDIT: Most of these other answers are dead wrong. Pat Benatar (my fave) is of the 80s like most of the others. Cass Eliot didn't do much on her own, and her group was nowhere near the most successful. Janis Joplin's sales didn't skyrocket until she died.
Get your decades right, people!
