'It's my life' by Bon Jovi
'Make a memory' by Bon Jovi.
'Somewhere only we know' by Keane.
'Apologize' by Timbaland feat. One Republic.
Also, you might like some Coldplay songs like 'yellow'

If you like Whiskey Lullaby you should like these

I really love KENNA. He's not really R&B or hip hop, but he has worked with a lot of artists in that genre and he's great.

He did a commercial for PSP or something a long time ago and his new CD is finally out. He's been on some MTV promos lately too. Check out these songs:
"Say Goodbye to Love" & "Out of Control"

What introduced me to new music was The website http://www.last.fm/ . You just type in an artist you like and it's pretty self explanatory. I'm not sure about you, but I really like alternative ranging from punk pop stuff to electronicy to calming sorta like Colbie Callet.
Even though you might not like most of this stuff, here are my suggestions for fresh new music and artists:
Sia, Nicole Atkins, Architecture in Helinski, and Justice to name a few.

Check out Meg & Dia! They're one of my favorite bands at the moment. Listen to "Monster," "Roses," "Tell Mary," and "Indiana."

If you're into electronica, try The Birthday Massacre. The lyrics are pretty dark, but the music itself is a lot of fun, it sounds sorta video-game inspired. Listen to "Violet," "Video Kid," and "Unfamiliar."

Daphne Loves Derby is really god too. They just released a new album earlier this year, called Good Night, Witness Light, which I think is definitely their best so far. Check out the songs "Hopeless Love," "Cue The Sun," "Stranger, You And I," and "Pollen And Salt."

You might also like Mae. They also just put out a new record recently, called Singularity. It's pretty good, though I'd say that I prefer their older stuff just a little bit more. Check out "The Everglow," "Soundtrack for Our Movie," and "Suspension."

Also check out M.I.A. She's probably my favorite hip-hop artist at the moment. She tends to write a lot about poverty and terrorism and other political subjects, which is pretty cool. Listen to "Paper Planes," "Sunshowers," and "Hussel."

Also check out these bands/artists...
Copeland, Regina Spektor, Dear And The Headlights, Straylight Run, The Like, Hidden In Plain View, Bruce Springsteen, A Fine Frenzy, Elliott Smith, Halifax, Anberlin, Self Against City, and Freezepop. =]
