Angus is Angus. who else plays like that? technical? not so much. but passion and power? HELL YEAH! his playing always gets your attention and draws you in. think about it, when an AC/DC song comes on the radio, how often do you change the station?

He did play with heart and it sounded good as well, usually. When it comes to technical prowess, however, he wouldn't be in the top 1000, literally. Most popular guitarists would not make the top 1000 list. If you go to Berklee college of music you'll find the majority of those jazz and prog rock guitarists have much more technical skill than any of the more famous musicians.
Overall, combining influence, impact, popularity, musical quality, some skills, soul, etc., I'd say he'd be somewhere in the Top 200, maybe below 100. His guitar playing sometimes sounds the same...

I love Angus Young, he does play with everything he has and it sounds good as far as I'm concerned, so he's up there somewhere.
And I agree, all the skill in the world doesn't mean anything if another guy can make better music with less technical knowledge.
I'd rank him just the same as any other heavy metal band guitar player.

Angus may not be the greatest player ever, but he certainly seems to have more energy than anybody.
Angus gets overlooked way too often.
