Dragonforce?!

Question: can they actually play what they record? i mean things like the solo part in Through the Fire and Flames. i havnt gone to any concerts but from all the live videos that ive seen ive never seen them pull off the solo like they do on the recording....do they just edit it to make it sound better in the studio? i mean i have seen a vid of herman li playin pretty good in the studio so maybe they just cant play live for some reason?

Well, first of all you have to take into account that the members of Dragonforce enjoy alcohol very much. Apparently Sam Totman and Herman Li even play live while under the influence, which would obviously contribute to the sloppiness they're known for in their live shows.

Second, you will never hear them replicate their album solos perfectly while in concert. Don't get me wrong, they are capable musicians, but the solos they create in the studio are laden with so many effects that it will not sound the same when they play it live. Then there's the alcohol...

I would think they are prty good live. most bands arent as good live as they are in their cd's or records. most bands "tweak" their songs

DragonForce sounds good when they record, not so good when they are live
they don't have the dead-on style some bands do

if you want true speed metal that sounds just as good live as on the record than listen to Between the Buried and Me

that band has the best guitarist ever, no joke.

let me guess u all play guitar hero iii

Well I know for a fact Herman Li is capable of doing so. I've never seen Dragonforce live, but I did attend a guitar seminar in LA and Herman Li was one of the guest there and he played live along to some Dragonforce songs and he was note for note, so I know for a fact he is capable. Now if hes extremely messed up while playing live with his band then it's a whole different can of worms, but I know for a fact he is physically able to play live what he records.

YES they can in fact I went to Indianapolis a few years ago and saw them play with He is Legend and Chimera. Herman Li can in fact play as fast he does in the records. Also he doest use pedals to make all the noises most of them are from his fast playing.
