Nevermind, I can't do it. I don't think Kurt Cobain could either. I know the title comes from a girl writing on a wall that Kurt Cobain smells like teen Teen Spirit. He didn't know she was talking about the deoderant. So he went on a big rant about the youth and tribulations. So I imagine there it has a lot to do with agression, angst, and sex, but I can't say that for certain. It just kind of sounds like there is. At first there is talks of guns and a girl being a dirty word. I imagine this has to do with agression, angst, and being dumped. Then there is talk about the band. Who knows what thats about. And the whole safer with the lights out and feeling contagious is probably sexual.

The first thing you need to know about Kurt Cobain is that he when he wrote a lot of his songs he was psychotic and drug affected. Great songs just dont expect them to make a lot of sense that not what Nirvana was about.
It's about how confusing being a teenager is.
It's also about how hard it is to write lyrics to guitar riffs like that.

I have to tell you as a long time listener to Nirvana that Teen Spirit is or was actually a deoderant. Kurt Cobain openly stated this, saying something to the effect of "our first hit was named after deoderant" . If you listen to Nirvana you know that it's not really about the lyrics, it's more about the sound and feel of the songs. If you watch the video that goes along with it you may get a sense of the teen angst surrounding the song. It doesn't really have to mean anything, it's just about what you feel.
