I know a lot of you will disagree but I have always thought Eminem?!

Question: was one of the best lyricists I've heard. His albums were all gold until "Encore". It sucked. What do you think happened with him?

Way too much success with lesser time to be creative. Some artists are pressured to release an album within a deadline and with all the things going on around them have probably less time to be more creative.

Maybe he let the success go to his head and then crapped out Encore, thinking,"Oh I'm Eminem I am a great lyricist. This album won't suck because it's by me."

I think that all the drama of his wife and the divorce, and his child..and everything just caught up with him. And especially the problems with his mom. Yeah, encore wasn't his best, but some of it was good. I think that he will be back soon and he will be better this time...hopefully.

BABY MOMMA DRAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i agree his lyrics were one of the best.

actually i thought encore was pretty good. his others are better though. i don't know what happened. let's see how his next album turns out.

I think he's brilliant too and I agree 'Encore' was crap .. I got put off him because he ripped the sh-it out of my hero (Michael Jackson) that was really uncalled for. It shows his insecurities by taking the piss out of MJ. But 'The Marshall Mathers LP' was an amazing album x

Yeah I think he was and still is the greatest "white" rapper out right now.

My favorite would have to be "the eminem show"

For those who say he's no good, name another white rapper better?? Vanilla ice? Lol

Shure there's way better rappers out there, but his origional style is what makes him a good rapper, in my opinion

Yeah, I liked him until Encore too - now I can't stand him. I don't believe that crap he spouts about his mother, to me he seems like a spoiled little geeky boy who wants to fit in with the "cool kids". So instead of continuing to evolve as an artist, he's tried to turn himself into something he's not, and it shows in his music. He seems like fame has really gone to his head.
Encore was a massive disappointment to me. I was really looking forward to it coming out, then when it did, the only song I liked on it was Mosh.

A good lyricist. But not a fan at all.
I hate that whiney voice of his when he raps.

I am a BIG eminem fan.His music is his way of expressing himself.Who cares who dont like him.its because they dont understand music.Hes coming back soon.He wanted to take a break for his daughters sake.

Well first of all eminem has always talked about the same things. Having problems with Kim,Loving his daughter so much, and hating his mother! So if that is great lyrics to you then i must diagree. Eminem has skill no doubt but he is loosing it and thats what happened to him all the problems that he had were out on his tracks so he had nothing more to rap about.

Eminem IS one of the best lyricists . His album Encore WAS'NT so bad , but not as good as his previous 3 albums . Maybe bcoz he wasnt really expressing himself in Encore but he is still one of the best rappers and lyricists ever . . . . .

Are you sure his albums were JUST GOLD???? And yeah, em is a awesome lyricist, a great example is on Jay z's renegade- Em killed jay on his own $h!t!!!!!! Pure genius!!

Yeah he was a good lyricists (not the best) I'm not sure why he lost his touch, maybe he ran out of things to say.
Some people just can't be great forever.
